What is this program all about?

After this program you will be equipped to take on the leadership responsibilities that come with being an operations leader. Course 1: Communication Essentials
In this course, you’ll learn about the fundamental communication skills that differentiate high performing leaders. You’ll dive into specific verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, as well as skills for effective written communication.

Course 2: Relationships & Conflict
This course equips you with the skills to navigate and successfully resolve conflict, deliver feedback, build relationships, and communicate with diverse peers and associates. You’ll learn a proven framework for giving feedback and practice navigating pushback and disagreement.

Course 3: Problem Solving & Decision Making
In this course, you’ll learn a systematic way to approach problem solving and decision making to minimize time spent on finding a solution and optimize the chances of finding a successful outcome. You’ll learn how to define a problem by identifying the root cause, and strategies to make complex decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Course 4: Acting & Adapting
This course is focused on not only improving your personal productivity and efficiency, but also that of your team. You’ll learn strategies for getting things done, managing your time, and prioritizing tasks. You’ll also develop your ability to adapt to change, and how to lead others through complex situations.

Course 5: Analytics for Operations Leaders
In this course, you will develop and practice essential data analytics skills for any operations leadership role. You’ll learn to write formulas and utilize key functions to organize data and identify insights. You’ll also learn how to analyze dashboards and identify issues to improve processes and performance. Finally, you’ll learn to create well-structured reports that display your insights and analytics work to stakeholders.

Optional Courses
As part of this certificate, you will have access to optional coursework on the following topics:

  • Stress Management & Emotional Resilience: you’ll learn to apply research-backed stress management techniques to manage stressful situations and maintain emotional stability and peak performance.
  • STAR Interview Preparation: you’ll get hands-on practice using the STAR method for interviewing. You’ll develop a story bank to use in interviews, and practice turning those stories into the STAR framework.

Yes, the entire course experience is online and can be completed on your own schedule as long as you work towards the deadlines set in each course. Our courses are designed for working professionals, students, and parents!

The program will run from May 6, 2025 to September 22, 2025, consisting of four courses which will be open for 4 weeks each. You should expect to spend 5 – 7 hours per week completing your coursework. The program is flexibly-paced, meaning you can move as quickly or slowly as you’d like through each course, as long as you complete all sections and projects during the 2-4-week course period. We provide a suggested course schedule to help pace yourself through each course. The program will consist of 16 total weeks of coursework.

Before enrolling, students must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and basic computer literacy skills. 

You are eligible to participate in the program if you have been employed as a regular full-time (40+hours per week), reduced time (30+ hours per week), or part-time (20-29 hours per week) hourly L1-L4 blue badge employee for 90 continuous days by May 6, 2025.

This program is primarily designed for Associates who are excited to progress in their careers to roles like Process Assistant, Operations Manager, Shift Lead and similar operations leadership positions. In the past three years, there were over 22 thousand unique job postings for open operations leadership roles.

They will help you identify exciting jobs to apply to and get ready for interviews. All you need is a Windows or Mac computer or laptop and stable internet connection. While you can complete the lessons on most devices including phones and tablets, labs and projects require a Windows or Mac laptop or desktop computer. For that reason you are not able to complete the course with only a phone, iPad/tablet, Chromebook, or Linux machine.

Not necessarily. Some Career Choice programs are aligned to specific roles at Amazon, but you still have to go through the application and interview process to get the job. There is no guarantee that you will get a higher-paying job at Amazon in your field of study just because you completed a Pathways program.
